When Will the OWA Represent on Appeals?

The OWA represents on appeals at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) and at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT). WSIAT is the final level of appeal. The OWA may represent you in your appeal, depending on the nature of your workplace insurance problem. Whether the OWA represents you or not, we will assist you in identifying time limits for action in your case, as well as filing a letter with WSIB or WSIAT in an effort to preserve your appeal rights.

For information on time limits applicable to the filing of claims, see OWA Fact Sheet 3 called Filing A Claim.

For information on time limits applicable to appeals, see the OWA Workers' Information Kit:  Appealing WSIB Decisions.
